Laura Friedmann

Project Title: Tenaya

With over 15 years of experience her commercial visual work has been featured on CBC, YesTV, by the United Nations, Bell, Harley Davidson Motorcycles, Audi, KitchenAid, and Special Olympics Canada. She has traveled to over a dozen countries and led creative projects, managed both small and large-scale events and worked with a variety of not-for-profit organizations, and grassroots film initiatives. Laura is an advocate for women in film and media and serves on the board of directors of Breakthroughs Film Festival which is devoted exclusively to showcasing films by emerging female directors. She completed the Producers Market Incubator Program offered by CaribbeanTales Inc. and was recently awarded a partial scholarship for the “Media Leadership Lab” with WIFT Toronto. She was a co-creator and facilitator at the Native Film & Storytelling Institute and is currently involved in the production of a few documentaries, web series, and films.
